Hans Heijnen’s documentary ‘Achter de Brug’ has its première on December 23th. It will be on TV on the 25th ánd 26th of December. I was very pleased to write the music for it.
The film portraits the first inhabitants of the Noord-Oostpolder. Sea that was turned into land in 1942, mostly by hand. The people in the polder live in the shadow of the Ketelbrug; a bridge famous for leading its own life. The bridge is a symbol for the unstable relationship they have with the mainland. It brought them the new and the fast, but the tranquility of the polder most certainly has its charm too…
